REAL ESTATE LICENSING
Texas Real Estate License Checklist
Before beginning your career in real estate, you must have a real estate license.
1. |
Take the required courses. With college credit, you only need the following four courses; without college credit, you need six courses total and you can choose any two additional courses. |

Send in the Evaluation of Education Document to TREC with your real estate course certificates and, if applicable, your transcript from college. |
3. |
Receive a letter from TREC which states you may now send the salesperson's application to TREC. |
4. |
Take a Prep Course. This takes the guesswork and stress out of testing. You will have practice tests that cover math and terminology similar to the state test. |
5. |
Receive your Candidate Information Brochure (CIB) in the mail from TREC allowing you to schedule your State Exam. |
6. |

7. |
Take the State Exam. |
8. |
License arrives in the mail to your Sponsoring Broker’s office. |
